Tasmania’s second major city, Launceston just names Australia’s best town by wotif.com. With the demand for the city going up by 125 percent over the last 12 months. Boasting world-class wineries, restaurants and the Cataract Gorge just a walk from the city centre, travellers will be feeling very full and happy when they visit the north of the state.

In the immediate surrounds of Launceston you will find one of Tasmania’s most prominent wine regions known as the Tamar Valley. This area is home to many notable cellar doors and vineyards, each offering locals and visitors a hearty display of wine and farm-to-table produce. Many of these vineyards are located on the edge of the Tamar Valley, however stretch as far North as Delamere Vineyards en route to popular beach spot Bridport.
