If you travel further afield in Tasmania you will be rewarded by the rough and rugged coastline, endless wilderness and prevalent mining industry. While this area of Tasmania is much less developed compared to other regions of the island, there is certainly an allure this holds and the West Coast continues to attract tourists in droves over the summer months. Both the mining and tourism industries make this an in-demand area to invest, as there is a much lower price point to enter the market.
So, what can you expect of the rugged West Coast?
This part of Tasmania has a much cooler and wetter climate to the rest of the island. This is however all part of the allure! A visit to the West Coast is always an adventurous one, passing through rough and barren land before arriving in small townships like Queenstown and Strahan. The former of these relies heavily on the mining industry, whereas Strahan is more tourist-focused. Thanks in part to its remote location and enviable sunsets on the west coast, Strahan is quite the tourism underdog for Tasmania.
